Y cable question
« on: August 20, 2012, 01:42:46 PM »
My boat has an older flasher built into the dash. It also has a thru hull transducer. I recently purchased the 798ci SI HD unit and its transducer is mounted on the transom. Is it possible to "Y" the flashers data into the 798 so that while on plane I cabn measure depth / utilize the thru hole transducer?

hgv, Whate modle number flasher do you have?

I think the cable ends won't mate up from a old flasher to the Y-Cable. :'(

If you can post a pix of the flasher cabls end.

Like others have said: it depends on the connector end of the flasher’s transducer.  We may still have soma adapters that may allow older transducers to work but they may also be limited to using only the 200kHz sonar versus the 200kHz and 83kHz sonar of the correct transducer.

Post an image of the transducer connector as well as the full model name of the Flasher unit.

OK will get that info tonight.

I would be happy with just the flasher on the 798 working while on plane
