Can anyone help with suitable mounting location for si transducer on Nitro 898.  I have seen it mounted next to bottom right of jackplate (has clearance to shoot both directions) but i have worries of no 2d high speed readings.  Bottom step is a cluster of intakes and drains.  Saw on another thread of mounting to top of step???

I would use the first mounting location you stated but add an XP-9-20 DualBeam transducer and an AS-Si-DB-Y transducer spltter cable inside-the-hull (sump area) for your 2D sonar readings, even at high speeds.
