I'm trying to use a Helix 12 G2N MSI with a XM 9 20 MSI T transducer and an Airmar TM165HW transducer together by using a Y cable.  I can get them both to work, but what should I be using for the connected transducer?  If I don't have the proper SI transducer entered, the DI and SI don't work correctly and if I have the proper SI transducer selected, I can't enter the full frequency range of the Airmar transducer which is 150 to 250.
Can anybody please shed any light on what the solution may be?

Thank you.

Good question  ...

If no one pops in with an answer call Humminbird 1-800-633-1468

What is the full model name of the HELIX listed in the Status View page and on the bar code on the back of the unit  ... ??

Helix 12 HW MSI GPS G2N is the full model number and the default transducer is the XM 9 H1012 HW MSI G2N (I was wrong in my opriginal post).  I will probably have to live with the upper end of the frequency spectrum on the Airmar at 240 kHZ instead of 250 kHZ but it likely won't be noticeable.

Thanks Rickie.

I'll have to play around with it more when I'm on the water.  The default transducer is out of production and it sounds like there was a short run with that particular transducer so I'm actually not sure now which side imaging transducer I actually have.  I do remember something about it when I bought the Helix new at Scheels too but I don't remember what tht was anymore.
I'll get it figured out.

Thanks Rickie.  I knew it was something like that but didn't remember.  It's been a great unit for me.

Change User Mode under the Setup tab to Advanced or Custom depending on software version  ...

Then open the CHIRP Configuration Menu and choose the 2d frequency range Menu  ...

You should see here that the default range for the 2d band is not set to the full capable range of the setting  ... (Humminbird thinks this default range is nominal for most waters)  ...

The range can be adjusted even down to a 1kHz difference in high and low to “almost” transmit a fixed frequency of your choice  ...

I did this often on my previous SOLIX for SI and DI because I simply did not like the results of the default bands  ...

Thanks again Rickie.  I've been on the page to adjust 2D frequency ranges several times and the only thing that I really wish I could do is set the upper frequency to 250 kHZ but it'll only allow for up to 240 kHZ.  I'll playiwth it again tomorrow to try and optimize frequency settings.
