Title: Transducer XT 14 20 HDSI T (RD2) PIN#3 Broken
Post by: nelsoko47.107 on September 18, 2022, 01:14:15 PM
My transducer has a broken pin on the connector, it is the 3rd pin clockwise while looking at the connector with the key at 12 O'Clock.  I've asked HB how this will affect the system but wasn't really given a clear answer.  Can anyone provide more detail on whether or not this pin will affect any of the performance.  To me it looks like everything works, however I loose my Depth(1) reading while on plane but I think that is somewhat of a known issues.

Attached is an image of the transducer cable that plugs in to the head unit.

Thanks in advance!

Same for me a pin missing on DI so i shut off DI on the unit and the rest works ,

Oh that is awesome!  I was hoping the pin wasn't used to save $400.00.  Thanks for sharing that!

I already have a XNT 14 20 T installed so I think I will pickup a 14 M SIDB Y (y cable) and use my 2D TD for the Depth(1) readings and the DI-SI for the more advanced views.

Do you know, when I connect the y-cable will the ONIX 10 SI C actually see both transducers and then should I disable the 2D pinging on the XT 14 20 HDSI T (RD2) TD?

The Y cable is simply wires  ... it disconnects the wire (no circuit) going to the 2d piezo in the SI xducer  - and connects the wire going to the 2d piezo in the added xducer  ...

The head unit doesn’t even recognize there’s a Y cable or a second xducer  ...

Okay, then I don't even need to disable ping'ing.

If the 2D TD is plugged in to the Dual Beam side of the y-cable the head unit would see a TD and only be able to detect the 2D functionality, if I plug in the 2D-DI-SI TD to the SI side of the y-cable, again the head unit would only see the 1 TD but all options (if my pin #3 wasn't broke) would be available on the head unit.

While researching my depth(1) issues on my Onix I could have swore I've seen other sites / post that mentioned turning off 2D ping'ing somewhere....  I keep researching.

Thanks for your input.

You are correct my friend  ... the head unit only detects “a” transducer connected - not which combination of Y cable scenarios connected  ...

Thanks to danlaboucane for the XT 14 pinout  ... I would have had to dig that out of my files  ...
