Check here in the FAQ section.

Humminbird recommends using Windex® Vinegar Multi Surface(in the spray bottle).

Do NOT use any wipes products (which can also be available as the brand name Windex Multi-Task).

The lens contains a special coating which improves visibility.  It is recommend to use the above cleaner because we have tested and proved this cleaner.  It does not deteriorate the coatings on the lens.

I found that certain brands of paper towel leave streaks.  The best in my opinion is Bounty.  Stay away from Viva (I think it's "treated").
Fold one sheet to about the size of the screen and get the towel wet with many drops of the recommended Windex and wipe sideways once.  I let the screen "air dry".  Don't use a dry sheet, it leaves a film.  I just wipe across with the very wet towel and let it dry by itself.  I only takes a second or two.  Just my opinion.  Others, please join in.
Thanks.

I only use a micro fiber cloth and Vinegar Windex on my screens. Any paper product can scratch the screen/coating.

I have found that by putting a screen protector on that doesn't show finger prints has been a huge help!  Screenpatronus is a dealer on ebay and they have some of the least expensive.

I also try to use a micro-fiber cloth when cleaning.

I also use the Screenpatronus that Robert mentioned...very easy to install and much cheaper than some of the other brands....

I think it was something like $12.99 plus shipping....for the 1197 protector
