Running HB 997csi, Navplanner2, Humminbird PC. I use Navplanner 2 on my PC in conjunction with Google Earth to plan my trips, create WPs and Routes. The issue I'm having is eliminating the duplicate WPs. Exporting NavPlanner WPs gives all WPs. Exporting NavPlanner Routes gives the routes and all the WPs that are in those routes. Result is any WP in a route is duplicated. Only way I've found so far is to painstakingly delete the duplicate WPs after loading on the SD card.
1) Export WPs & Routes as separate GPX files to PC
2) Open Humminbird PC and "Open" the two files (gives two files in HB PC)
2) Upload Routes from PC to SD card and choose the "Replace" option. This clears all existing data on the SD card and loads the Routes and WPs in those routes..
3) Upload WPs from PC to SD card and choose the "Add" options. This adds all the WPs which creates duplicates for any WP in any Route.
4) Download contents of the SD card to HB PC creating a 3rd file in HB PC.
5) Select the WPs in this 3rd file and sort by name. Scrolling down will show the duplicates.
6) Now comes the tedious part. Decide which WP is the one NOT in a route by tring to delete either the top one or the bottom one of a pair. An error will occur for the one in a route so delete the other. If it happens to be the top one of a consecutive pair you can proceed to delete the top one of all duplicated pairs. Just hold down the Ctrl key and select the top ones and delete. Move deliberately, slowly and carefully to avoid a mistake and having to start over.
7) Take the SD card to the 997 unit (be sure to delete all existing WPs and Routes from the unit) and insert the SD card. Unit will prompt to upload waypoints and routes from SD, say Yes.
Does anyone know how to get a clean export from NavPlanner2 (ver 4.5.56.5612) into the HB unit SD card without all that manual work to remove the duplicates?
