997 gps puck help

i installed an 1197 on the console and a 997 on the bow. i have them on interlink but it was suggested i still use 2 separate gps pucks. if so, what gps puck do i need? i don't have one currently.

That will depend on the software in both units.
AS-GR16  either unit can use with older software.
AS-GRP  either unit can use but only when running 6.300 or higher version of software.
AS-GPS-HS  the 1197 unit can use but only when running 6.570 or higher version of software (the 997 cannot use this model of GPS Receiver).
