Looking on Ebay today l see that there seems to be a few types of tranducers that will work on this unit So the best one is ?

There are a number of transducer which you can use, the choice depends on how you intend to use the transducer(s). I use a Side Imaging Transducer and a QuadraBeam Transducer, like them both for different types of viewing. Also you may be looking for a transducer to shoot through the hull for traveling down the lake at a high speed.

As far as I know these are the only SI transducers available for your unit. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.

Just read that the 160s (they look the same as the 180s) - Operates only with the 981C SI and 987C SI. Will not work with any other models. Guess they are not an option. If you go to Humminbird.com and do a search for SI transducers there are descriptions plus you can download manuals for each transducer you are interested in.

Just looked at Amazon.com and did a search for Humminbird SI Transducers and found Humminbird XHS 9 HDSI 180 T Transom Mount Transducer for $176.20 with free shipping. I think this is a good deal. Whenever I can I purchase thru Amazon, they seem to have good prices and protect my purchases.
