Topic: 1198 7.090 update and 6.640

I downloaded the latest and greatest 7.090 and my 1198 stopped reading depth.  Is there a way to reload the software.  The screen just tells me I have the lastest update with the 7.090 .
I understand that 6.640 is the line in the sand and cannot find that on the downloads.  In order to reload the 7.090 or simply go back to the 6.64 which worked fine except for the problem finding cards when I have a lakemaster and navionics loaded.  I updated because the update was to supposed to improve the card issue and other issues.  Of course I am also concerned about bricking and other issues.  I thought this was over when I left lowrance.

The only way to reload the same software version is to load a different software version in between them.  You would need to load an older version of software first, then re-download the 7.090 software and load it again.

As you stated; there is the possibility of something going wrong when you load an older version of software into your unit.

I can also provide the software to you if you will send me an e-mail with a request to do so.  In the e-mail I will need the version (by number) that you want or I will need the serial number and model name of your unit so that I can find out what the original software version of your unit was when it was produced.

i updated to 7.09 yesterday and everything worked fine
i did have to adjust the 2d sensitivity a bit because my usual setting i was losing bottom at speed
played with it a little and no problem ... so far

is the 200/83 2D working OK for you?

you know i never noticed as i only use the 200 setting

It doesn't work any better on my 998. The 200/83 still sucks and I don't see any difference in the 6.74 and 7.09 relative to 200/83.

Only about one month to go and it will a full year that we have been waiting for the fix.

This is totally unacceptable. I really wish I'd of gone with L or G guys.

ran the 200/83 today and it was terrible
backed off the  the 83 sensitivity -2 was bearable when idling but couldnt keep bottom when moving
 so went back to 200
200 looses bottom when moving also
but d/i and s/i are pretty good
might have to go back to v6.74
