I want to fish water over 12 feet more often this year. Is there a way to locate off shore ridges on lake maps.
Unfortunately NH has VERY FEW reservoirs. We have lakes that are more like glacial lakes, so no real channels.
I use Navionics because its the only one that covers NH well. Only 2 lakes I fish are broken down in less then 5 foot increments.

Just follow your channels and look at the contour lines. You said ledges first then spoke of ridges, Which one or both? A map with that shows minor contour lines will be best for what you need (more detail).
Tighter they are the sharper the drop.

Find promising locations on map, then when sonar searching, position yourself on the shallow side, increase SI range ~120ft and watch for shadows which indicate a drop-off.
Mark waypoints and try different angles to explore.

Even on maps with 5ft contours ...steeper drops and ridges can be identified...
Look for the contour lines that are closer together than the surrounding contour lines...
