Title: Using older navionics card in helix 7
Post by: graggy on August 11, 2018, 01:36:11 PM
Hi I have a 898c si unit that came on my boat when I bought it. It has a navionics micro sd card in it with the adapter. I’m looking at buying a helix 7 chirp si gps. Will the card from my 898 work in the helix 7? A guy I talked to at bass pro told me that the new navionics cards have all of the USA on them. I told him that I thought my card was for the southeast US and he told me that was a very old card and they changed to one with all of the US on it. He recommended that I buy the helix 7 chirp si gps w/nav so it comes with a new card but its more money. I would like to try to keep my cost down if my card from my 898 will work and I could buy the helix 7 without the nav card with it. Just trying to find out if I can do this. Thanks

I might bring my chip in to bass pro and ask if you could try it in the demo unit. Odds are pretty good that it will work since the maps are an overlay to the screen image.  >:D

I'm using a 2006 model Navionics Southeast Region card in ONIX  ...

Your older card will work in HELIX  ...
