Navionics Highly Detailed "Community" Sonar Charts

I think this is a very clever idea.

The basic chart plotter software is free as are "government" charts (ie. NOAA ENC's).  Like other charting software products, you can buy detailed charts, but what makes this unique is that you can upload and share your bathy data which is then combined with other boaters' data to form a highly detailed "community" sonar chart.  From what I can tell, the cost is around $50-$60 and up.

I should also mention that there is an Open Source project that is similar in concept at OpenSeaMap ( http://depth.openseamap.org/#maptracks ) but the Navionics product charts look considerably higher quality and more widely used.  At least for now.
