AutoChart file conversion problems
« on: June 01, 2014, 12:45:56 PM »
Is anybody else having problems exporting their maps back to the unit for a non updated unit? I've used the conversion instruction sheet, but i feel like im missing something, or im moving the wrong files etc. Love some help if anybody knows!

Hey, what are you having trouble with?

I have messed with mine now finally. As stressed by Humminbird, I did not delete or alter the original "AC" folder or "LkMaster" folder.

So...
I renamed the "LkMaster" folder to "0LkMaster-DO NOT DELETE".
I renamed the "AC" folder to "0AC-DO NOT DELETE".

That way when I look at the contents of the Zerolines SD card on my computer, I know that those two folder are the originals and should not be messed with.

When I first got my copy of Autochart, I set up the program to read and write to a local copy of the SD card (so I don't have to have the Zerolines SD card in my computer to save/update my lakemaster maps).

So when I created a new lakemaster map, it is save in C:/Autochart/LkMaster/AC

Once you have your map how you want it, copy the "LkMaster" located inside the AC folder from your hard drive, to the root of the ZeroLines SD card.

I didn't have any issues, and it worked just as a normal lakemaster card.

I created a little tutorial file to show the process.

It shows the steps needed to use your ZeroLines SD card and your custom map on a Humminbird unit that does not have the software update on it yet.  This is how I got it to work on my 788ci HD.

Download the .pdf file below, and let me know if you have any questions.

I have updated my unit firmware and I was able to see my custom maps but had to rename and copy my maps to the SD card root.

Dave, I'll be able to help you with this later.  Probably this afternoon.  Heading out the door now though.

Yes, you can get it to work on ALL Humminbird units that have an SD card and accept a mapping chip.  You just have to use a work around to do it, which isn't too difficult.
