« on: June 23, 2009, 06:16:54 PM »
Anybody have a answer for Todd? Heres the ?

" Have you used Navionics Hotmaps on your PC?  I am having issues with the format of Waypoints.  I am trying to import or use the hotmaps waypoint format and it doesn't match the format in HB PC...i.e Hotmaps is dd.dddddd and HB is dd.ddddd, Hotmaps ddd.mm.mmmm" and HB ddd.mm.mmm',
and Hotmaps ddd.mm.ss.s and HB dd.mm'ss"...
Any thoughts or experience?  The GPS thing is very new to me.
Thanks!!! Todd "

What exactly is the issue other than the number of decimal places?  Is it causing an error and if so, what?

It should still import/export the numbers ok does it not?

Robert,

I'm not sure what the problem is, since I dont use these features.

I think he was going to call Navionics and try to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks,
Rollie

Reddog,
I replied to Todd.  Robert is right; they just use an extra digit on the backend of the number is all.  All he has to do is drop the last number.  Same thing happens when you view waypoints in Google Earth.

ALL geospatial software I am aware of will truncate as required. Seems like a non issue to all but those who are even more anal than I (pretty high standard).

I don't remember which board it was.  Could have been the Yahoo board or even the Unofficial Humminbird Forum.
