Title: Lost all snapshots Helix 12
Post by: Woz on June 22, 2017, 03:43:47 AM
Hey all, I spent a good part of today screen shorting snags, king salmon and barramundi with my helix 12 mega. Some really cool shots even getting the fork of the tail in some shots etc. Problem occurred when I got home and took the SD card out and plugged into the computer, there was zero data, not even the waypoint data that was previously there. So I go back out to the boat thinking it may have screen shots saved on internal memory and I need to export is something silly... No data again??  Lost all screen shots.
Have I done something wrong? Is this unusual? Maybe the SD card has died? Has anyone had this problem before?

Thanks in advance!

No idea what may have happened to the card .... but the snapshots are saved to the card, not internal memory.  Did you have snapshots turned on and with the new software releases, it is necessary to hold the mark button down for a while to take a snapshot.  A quick press will give you a waypoint only.......Waypoints are saved in the units memory, not to the SD card.

Yep snapshots were taken for sure, figured the long press out last trip. I also looked at all the shots at the ramp so they were definitely there.

I've put it down to an SD card issue, put another one in and took some test shots, back in computer everything was good, tried the old card in question and it took shots ok but as soon as I tried in computer again it was blank, no folders nothing.

Im experiencing this problem with the Zero lines Card. I returned the card and got a new one and it was working great and then it became corrupted as well while in use by the Helix 10 I have. Both the problem occurred on the water with the card where I lost mapping data and then found that I had no snapshots or recordings as well. On all subsequent outings those cards no longer saved anything despite the Helix 10 saying everything was saved and the unit saying that the Card slot with the Zero lines card is the save location

The unit is somehow corrupting the zero lines card. I do have an SD card as well that I was using to store data but I haven't checked since the problems to see if that one was also corrupted but I think it may be as well. hatever is happing its the Cause of the Helixe 10. Ive never lost an SD card period and two zero line cards both gone while used in the Helix 10
