Title: Anyone else excited by Smart Strike Technology ?
Post by: hays47 on January 17, 2014, 04:26:50 PM
Wished I could find more info on it. From what I gather its only on the new Onix and the other one.

Basically you can do a search parameter on your unit. Using the Lakemaster chip it highlights areas you should fish  in red.

Thats about all I know about it. Anyone one else know where to look  fo more detailed info.

I wouldn't hold my breath, we still haven't heard a word about Lakemaster Autochart ?????
I just hope that Autochart will be backwards compatible and not only the new series that is coming out. People invest a lot of money in this technology to find out that it is not upgradable without paying a huge price like my ipilot which I can't make the ipilot link switch without adding 800.00$ more to my the initial investment of 1200.00$. This kind of thing makes customers very wary of purchasing new tech toys without waiting to see what is around the corner and still not buying.

It sounds very interesting, especially for identifying similar areas if pattern fishing.

Need to wait and see what people think after the ONIX and Smartstrike are out there for a while.

Nope.  Interested in better and better 2D/DI/SI sonar.
It's meat and potatoes for me...

Very interesting to me. That ability is one of the reasons why I ordered the Onix instead of the 1199. I would hate to buy an 1199 and then find out it wouldn't run the newest software so I went ahead and spent the extra money on the Onix.

Had a chance to have a look at the new Lowrance touchscreen with SI-DI- $1700 Australian dollars. Other then the foot long transducer......if I was in the market for a new sounder I would seriously consider changing teams...........
