can someone explain this? What doeas this represent? How can the unit tell the difference ?
-
Are you asking about the black line near the top? On the left of the line is a scale and the black line at the scale shows the surface temperature...
the scale will have a top of the scale reading and a bottom of the scale reading. the black line points to a reading in between the two scale indicators by the probe of what the surface temp is..

thanks Chuck, that's what I was asking about. I guess there is a way to turn this on/off?
-
Sure is.
Look under the Sonar menu tab for the “Temperature Graph” menu and select the “Off” setting.

thanks, i'm not able to access my unit right now and was curious ecause sometimes its there and sometimes not. I guess maybe it is a default setting.
thanks for the info

I thinhk it depends on the "view" you have selected. It is not there for every screen.
At least you cann turn it off if you want. And now you know what it is for.
glad to have another happy ;D HB user..

Chuck is right: it is only shown on the full 2D sonar screen.
