Title: Any option to view one side only with si ?
Post by: Fay on February 09, 2012, 02:24:26 PM
I spend a lot of time trolling the shore line for small rock fish and puppy drum.
Is there a si view that will let me only look at one side of the boat if I don't care
about the other.  No big deal but, would like to know.   thanks in advance - Fay

Yes you can select the left or right beam in your advanced menue settings for sonar..

Which HB unit do you have.?

It (for the 1197) is under the side imaging x-press menu and then under the SI side tab. You can select the left, right or both...It will default to both....

I only have HB fish finders now, but I plan to order a 798 combo in the next few weeks.
Every thing I have read here says the 798 has the best screen in direct sunlight.
I hope the 798 has that same option - thanks -

Yes, this is a great option....especially for the smaller units.  It almost double the effective screen width if you are viewing full screen SI and not interested in what is on the other side.

Fay,
You can download the operations manual for the 798ci HD Si unit (and others) from this web site.  Look under the Downloads section:
http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=downloads;cat=17 (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=downloads;cat=17)
Hopefully I can get the new manual uploaded (have tried twice now…).

If not you can go to this web page and select the SUPPORT tab (about halfway down the right side of the web page) and download the manual from there:
http://store.humminbird.com/products/409964/798ci_HD_SI_Combo (http://store.humminbird.com/products/409964/798ci_HD_SI_Combo)
You should grab a copy of the Waypoint Management Guide as well.

On the HB site did you mean select the suport tab and then the manuals tab.
Also be sure if using the HB site you select the correct language of the manual.
I goofed and downloaded the french version before I saw the english selection..

Je ne parle pas français :P

Well I could not get the file to upload to this web site after a few tries.  I keep getting a message that I have to add a download title – which I had – so you will have to get it from the Humminbird web site.

It downloads real easy from the HB site. Just remember to save it in a folder you will be able to find later.

Greg, dont know why the file would not go thru to this site.

Send Robert a short note.
