Title: Xducer depth reaing limit - cannot under 3 feet
Post by: Beaulieu80 on June 27, 2016, 03:23:55 PM
Is there a limit to how the unit can read without error?

my boat at the dock have 2 feet of water under the Xducer.

Why it display 16 feet?

why when travelling 25Mhp on 2 feet of water i keep having 800 feet of water?  What makes my unit going crazy at low, strationnary or high speed of not reading under 3 feet of water?

I hav latest softare for my 798 cix hd si

It sounds like the transducer is tilted or out of level.

That would be the first thing I would check.  If the transducer is not level and the bottom gets deeper away from the boat, you can get an errant signal returned which will be more deep.  Straight down the transducer should give an accurate depth.  If that does not fix the issue, I don't know what else will.

I try this weekend to change my setup, the level, degree and still showing 16 feet insted of one foot since the water level change since last week.

I have the compact SI Xducer of my 798SI unit
