Helix 7 SI G2, new user questions
« on: April 20, 2020, 03:11:46 PM »
Hi y'all, new user here, glad I found this forum!  I just installed the Helix 7 Chirp SI G2 with the Compact transducer. I realize that the G2 unit with the Compact transducer isn't gonna perform like some of the pics I see on here so my expectations are realistic. Any idea what could be causing the faint highlight just left of centerline? Sensitivity 12, contrast 10, Switchfire clear mode. Is this about as good as the detail is gonna get?

Something to the left of the SI xducer is reflecting  ...

Remember - HB SI reaches to the water’s surface  ...

Left of the SI xducer is there?

Another xducer
Live well screen
Ladder
Trim tab

Thanks for the reply.  The livewell screen shown in the picture and the ears on the brass drain plug are the only things to left of transducer.  I woulda thought the 3/4" mounting board would move the transducer far enough back that those wouldn't interfere, but maybe so.

Remove the xducer from the transom and stick it way down in the water  ...

If the reflection goes away - it’s definately something on your transom reflecting the Sonar  ...
