Google maps
« on: May 24, 2017, 02:58:02 PM »
Hi All:
In hummingbird PC you can transfer and look at your waypoints in Google maps. my problem is the GPS numbers are not in GPS coordinates. Do not know what they represent. Is there any way to make the numbers be in regular GPS coordinates? I hope someone knows what I am talking about. Thank you much  Putz

Not sure I know what you are talking about ..... but you can view the waypoints in Google Earth.  If you have HB PC open, the icon at the top right allows you to select a single waypoint or group of waypoints and view them in Google Earth.
There's a bit of a glitch on my computer that I get an error message when doing this unless I open Google Earth before trying to view the waypoints in Google Earth.  I never have tried to figure out why .....just open Google Earth first.

If you select ...Edit...Preferences ....you can modify the position format to give you the latitude and longitude to fit the format you want.

If you click on the help tab in Humminbird PC, there is a user guide embedded in the software.

HI:
Bare with me on this please and thanks for the reply. I went to Humminbird pc and it is correct there. The Latitude and longitude are in the correct format. But when I transfer them to google earth to view them there and click on them to see what the latitude and Longitude is I get this crazy long winded number. It does not correspond with the latitude and longitude that Humminbird PC does.
I still do not know if I am relaying this to you guys right.

Example
Lat N45 59 535
Lon W091 18 857   This is what Hum PC has it as.

Lat 45.99225255929736
Lon 91-31427839028892         This is what it reads in google earth

My question:  Is there any way to change google earth to read the same as Hum PC?
P.S. Don't all you guys go fish my spot either.                         Thanks all.

If you look at Tools .... Option .... there are 4 choices for Lat/Lon.
