Putting recorded movies back into the 999 unit
« on: March 14, 2015, 12:12:41 PM »
I exported data from 999 just fine, then I seperated the recorded movie to a folder that I open with humviewer, and the rest I loaded from the card to humminbird pc. then i cleared the card.  Now I would like to put the movie back on the 999 but I cannot get it to show up on the 999.  I have 1 folder for the movie called R00008, with the following files B001.IDX & .SON followed by B002 and 003 with same .IDX and .Son files. And then there is one folder called R00008.Dat now I try to put these back on the card and it is a no go for the 999 to show it in the recording view.
Under the humminbird PC, under the .GPX there is one called file R00008 and when I export that entire GPX file back to to SD card it does not work for viewing the recording in the 999. Now I am using the simulator here in the house if that has anything to do with it.  I get all the waypoints and tracks back on the unit just fine. Just cannot see the snapshot pics or the movie of the trip.

The recording files must be in a folder on the SD Card titled RECORD before the HB unit will recognize that it is a recording ...

*Open the SD Card on your PC ...
*Right click in the open pane and select "New" ...
*Create a new folder titled RECORD (must be in all caps) ...

Open this new RECORD folder on the SD Card ...

Into the RECORD folder ...drag and drop the following ...::

*R0008 folder (the entire folder ...contents and all) ...
*R0008.DAT

Insert the SD Card in the HB unit and see if it will recognize the recording ...

Wow, that did the trick. Thanks big time.  Okay one more question while we are talking about things in this area.  How come the waypoints, tracks, record  items never reset to 001,  I put in a new formated card, I also do the format Nav Directories and do a restore defaults and all those numbers always pickup at the next unused number.  It is no biggie but eventually those numbers could get really big.

That is to help prevent the user from having multiple waypoints all with the same name (WP001).
