7.51 update issue
« on: March 07, 2015, 08:01:39 AM »
I just updated 2 humminbird  998 hd units to 7.51 the update seemed successful but when i restart and go to simulator there is no 83 khz even after I switch to only 83 in transducer select. I also noticed that there is no "encrypt sd" option as needed for chart select. anyone else do the update? What do you see?? ITS Highly unlikely the same glitch would happen twice. it must be an update issue!!

The Encrypt menu, I just discovered you need to have a card in the slot or the option don't show so it may have been working all the time

The simulator is an "on the water" recording captured by Doug V ...and then hard coded into the unit ...

Doug forgot to turn on the 83kHz ...therefore the 83kHz was not recorded for the Simulator recording ...

Well that explains it. I guess I don't have any issues that I'm aware of. but will be a month before the ICE is gone. Thanks Rickie. I dont know why I never noticed it before. I guess with all the talk about 83Khz I had to check it out

Greg said recently that it was done because of the space-saving memory unit.
On the water at a frequency of 83 kHz readings are normal. But blue fish FishID  mode still no :(

I'm seeing mixed Orange and Blue Fish ID Symbols on my 998c SI unit once I updated it to the 7.510 software.  This is while viewing the Simulator mode.  The older 998c Si units (not the 998c HD Si models) had both 200kHz and 83kHz sonar data in the simulator.

Hmm. Blue symbol is not observed in 899с 7.460 software
