Showing Blue and Red Fish on the 2D Sonar
« on: June 24, 2013, 05:02:55 PM »
Since the upgrade I am unable to show fish with 2D sonar on my 798. I have a 898 in the front that doing what it's supposed to, but the rear unit (In the console 798) is not. Since then, I have downgraded the image version and restored it I have even reset the defaults to see if the unit could have been affected by the new software. Does any one have settings for their 798 to get my unit back on line. When I put the unit on 83kHz I can see the fish in blue, but 200/83 will make the screen go clear as if nothing is down there. I have tried duplicating the settings on my 898 to it, no luck. Any help would be appreciated!

My kid is driving me crazy because he can't see fish on the unit and I can see them up front on the 898.
Thanks Guys!

Under your sonar menu, there should be a FISH ID selection.
Set it to on.

No it will not.
Try swapping your units around and see if the problem follows the unit or stays with a particular transducer.

great idea, I'm going to test it without the interlink in the path as well.. I was thinking more on the lines that the 83khz was not responding properly. I's almost like the 200 kills the 83.. But I will definitely swap the units....
