Unfortunately, not for HUMMINBIRD

With the advances of competitors, one wonders whether one has really bought the right unit. ???

Rudiger:
People with Lowrance units said the same thing
when Humminbird announced side imaging.
When the 360 was announced, they about sh@t
their pants. ;)

So,
What's the big deal?
Humminbird (Johnson Outdoors) owns Lakemaster,
and Humminbird units are compatible with Navionics.

Specifically, what will Humminbird users be missing out on?

It is all about competition, it pushes manufacturers to continually make improvements, advancing the technology of their products.

I am always pleased when new product improvements are made regardless of the manufacturer, then watch as the others scramble to make the next move.

I would like to see more improvements in the mapping programs.

Hi Itgeek

Only time will tell if we the 360-unit becomes a bestseller. I do not believe such a great need, even not at the current price.

In addition to Navionics LOWRANCE will be able to read C-Map and in the future BSB-maps, Lakemaster does not exist for Europe.

For example: Touchscreen - twice as long SI Transducher - fast service in Europe ...

Lake-Master is completely useless outside of the US.

I am forced to use Navionics here in Western Canada ........ these innovations have greater impacts "in the rest of the world" in terms of market share swings with new or added technology.
