1198 and Navionics
« on: July 17, 2012, 09:16:47 AM »
Hello, Its been a while since I have been on the forum. I have not had as much time as I thought I would to be out and using the sidescan.

Not sure this is the right area for this question if not please advise.

For some reason when I use my navionics card in my computer it shows lake depths but when I use it in the Humminbird it only shows them close to reefs, no where else. I have contacted both Navionics and Humminbird. Both have given me the same response. Humminbird says it is a Navionics problem and Navionics says its Humminbirds. I just want to see depths.

Thanks
Scott

Scott,
The Humminbird units allow you to customize what you see.
If you want to see everything:
Under you Chart Menu, set your Chart Detail Level to 'ALL',
and your Spot Soundings to 'Visible'.
That should show you everything your Map chip has to offer.

Good Luck.

FYI:

The Navionics Premium/Platinum CONTENT-COLORS for timbered area and creeks may not be displaying with 6.180.
So instead of setting Chart Detail Level=ALL, check the following setting.
Chart Detail Level=Custom, then set Custom Chart Layers/Seabed=ON

This was the case on my HB 1197 with 6.180.

Update and get past 6.180 to the next one, life will get better fast!

Some people at HB CS may need a little training on the units! Just a little? ::)
