downloading update to MAC
« on: March 03, 2012, 06:39:14 PM »
If I download an update to my MAC from this site, and drop it onto a SD card, will the Humminbird unit recognize the file correctly? I ask this because my MAC doesn't recognize the file of course, but will the unit or will downloading it to the MAC manipulate the file?

Hi Joe.lee
Yes
I have a Mac and that is precisely what I did and it all went well
Download from HB website or here  to Mac and copied to sd
Reset  to defaults on 898 HB unit turned it off
Replaced the sd card
turned HB unit back on and it updated in no time with no problems ;D
