While trying to open a .DAT file i get this "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application." message. The recording can be played back on the 898c unit itself. Also, the file size for the R00001.DAT file is 0K. The R00001 folder has several .IDX and .SON files should the r00001.dat be empty?

What program are you using to view the recording?
R0000001.dat should not be empty. It is a pointer to the r000001.files.
