Well its all hooked up.  I think I played with it nearly 2 hours in simulator mode last night.  The water is good and soft here in central PA, so tomorrow will be the maiden voyage / learning session with it.  I may even throw a fishing rod in the boat for the outing, but I'm sure most of the day will be spent learning and playing with the settings.

Well I just got home from my day on the water, and all I can say is Holy Cow!  You just have no idea what you didn't know what was down there before you get one of these things!!

The fish weren't real cooperative today, I only boated one fish.  Actually a pretty nice one at that, a 15 1/4" crappie.  But then again I did spend most of my time with my face buried in the screen and trying different settings.  Spending the time with it in simulator plus reading all the tips on here prior to taking it on the water really help.

Now I need to spend some time going through my snap shots and recordings.  If I have anything that looks decent I'll try to post it later.

Glad you got everything working ok.  You can view the recordings on Humviewer software (free) on your PC or just use the unit on the boat.  The nice thing about reviewing your recordings on the unit is that you can change setting such as sensitivity, contrast, and SI enhancement and see what gives you the most information on the screen.  The recording is of raw sonar data and not just a recording of the image on screen.  Therefore, the data can be viewed with different settings for analysis.  Great tool.  You will see things on closer examination you never noticed while on the water.
When you're in shallow water don't forget to try out the 800K setting for SI.  The added resolution is handy for identifying submerged objects you may locate.

It really IS amazing to be able to see the bottom in such detail!   ;D ;D

I tell most guys, dont waste time trying to fish on your first couple times out.  You are gonna be too busy checking out all the cool stuff you see on the unit.  I would certainly do some scanning and see if you can spot some fish in the structure.  Cut your range down to 3-4 times your depth for spotting the fish, and keep the boat on a straight course as best as possible.

Good Luck and have some fun.

Got it Rollie, thanks!

Some great looking images you have over there.  I haven't looked at all of them yet, but I'm working on it.
