glued transducer
« on: July 09, 2010, 01:56:42 AM »
I moved my 798ci to a new boat and the dealer glued the transducer inside the hull. Had to have them remove it and reinstall it on the transom. I have used it three times since the change and now I have no SI. Will glueing ruin the ducer?

It could have.  but also check the connectors for bent pins.  Also the cable to make sure it was not cut or abraised.
Try a buddies unit on your transducer and also your unit on his boat transducer.

You should not have been able to get very good if any SI when the transducer was glued in the hull.  Can you post a picture of the transducer?

The gluing should not have ruined it if it was cleaned off nice and there is no epoxy left on the transdcuer.
