I recently purchased a GEN two helix 10 mega chirp and coming from a gen 1 hds 8 it's a major improvement for many different reasons some obvious and some not so much . My question is this does having ac live negate buying autochart pro? I would like to lay the si mosiac over my map like I could do with my hds. Also are there really any other benefits to it ? I think you will still need AutoChart Pro. Here is my experience so far...I use AutoChart Live but as far as I can tell it just records depth/contour not SI. Also I have not been able to edit any AutoChart Live file with Autochart Pro, HumViewer or anything else. I can display the recordings on my LakeMaster maps but that is about it.
When I am recording with AutoChart Live I also simultaneously record with regular Sonar. Since they use the same sensor I can use AutoChart Live to see exactly where I have been but I can view and edit these Sonar recordings with Humviewer and Autochart Pro including the SI thus I can make the Mosaic overlays.

Are you using a zero lines card? If so what slot do you have it in. Do you have a blank formatted SD card also in the unit? I did some Auto Chart Live recordings, I know that I also saved my recordings.But I can't find them. I didn't have a Zero Lines card in the unit as I was using a Chart Select that I bought of the lake. Which I might add was great. Considering the price of Lake Master or Fish Smart it was a good buy. No other lakes I fish are on the cards.

I have a Zero Line card but in order to record both Autochart Live and sonar I have to remove the Zeroline card and insert my regular SD card. I then have my LakeMaster card and SD card and can record sonar to the SD while recording AutoChart live to the internal memory. When I get home I remove the SD, insert the ZeroLine card and the AutoChart live recordings automatically transfer to the Zeroline card.
All of your Autochart live recording should be on your Zeroline card in a seperate directory with a file extension of .ACU as I recall.

Thanks, I thought that if I saved they would go to the SD card in slot 1. And yes I set up the recordings to that slot. I just bought a second Zero Lines Card. So I will try sticking it into the unit.

If you have your Lakemaster or Navionics card in one slot and your ZeroLine card in the other and you make Autochart Live and Sonar recordings they will both go directly to your ZeroLine card. I suspect you could fill up the memory on the ZLine card fairly quickly doing this so when I record directly to the Zline card I upload the new .DAT (sonar/SI files) to my home computer and erase them from the ZLine. I can them edit/view them on the computer turning the ones I want into actual Maps and Mosaic overlays using AutoChart Pro and discarding the rest. I them upload these finished maps to the ZLine card and next time on the water I actually usable maps along with my LakeMaster chip.

Update I went out this weekend and did some recordings. I had ZLcard in slot 2, and when I put it in the unit put my data that I had previously recorded on it. I had a formatted sd card in slot one, and recorded to it also. As I have a Helix 9 I don't get si mosaics on my unit. I am learning more as I go.

Still waiting on my z card however I was using the unit at home on the boat looking at some recorded logs and I started recording wth Ac live and it put the info on my map like I was still on the water. I don't know if anybody noticed this but .... bonus!

While I was at home looking at recordings I had made with my helix while it was still on my boat I turned on AC live recording while I was playing my recordings from the day and I watched it put the the contour lines on the chart that goes with that recording
