I just seen a comparison of 3 GPS receivers here: http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=15 (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=15)
There were some significant differences and it made me wonder if anyone knows how accurate the internal GPS of a Helix is?

It is my understanding that the current production internal GPS antenna is the same hardware as the external GPS antenna ...
The discontinued AS GRHA was indeed more accurate than the stock antenna ...

95% return to ~3-5ft is great. I didn't think it would be that good. The 0.4mph feeling more like you were moving 0.7 - 0.9mph is a bit disappointing but not necessarily unexpected. I just hope it's accurate once it gets up to 0.9mph. Hopefully the speed accuracy has increased with a software tweak since you did the testing in 2013.
Thanks for the help rnvinc!

I have also noticed that some days are more accurate than others ...
Who knows what our government is inducing into the satellite info ...

interesting as I didn't see the AS GPS HS Precision receiver. I has on my bow, and by what I can tell its very fast and very accurate. I know its better than the receiver in my terrova. That thing is all over the place.

Hi
I have fitted the external Heading sensor gps and it's much more accurate. When moored in the marina the internal gps can move around as much as 5 to 10 meters. The external unit only moves around about .5 to 1.5 meters this is when stationary.

I have been running external GPS for some time. Currently using on the bow AS GPS HS Precision receiver. Its great!!! I just bought a Helix si mega. Have had it on the water once so not quite up to speed with it yet.
