Title: Question about networking two units
Post by: trogersIII on December 08, 2016, 10:55:44 AM
I've got a 999si and was looking at getting a helix 10 for xmas. I would move the 999 to the bow and use the helix on the console. Question 1: can the 999 and helix be networked? 2: if I got a 2d/gps helix could I network it to display the si from the 999? 3: would it ultimately be cheaper to just get the helix with si from the beginning because networking cables/hub will ultimately make the total cost approximately the same?

1: Yes the 999 can be networked to HELIX 10 to share Waypoints, Accessories, and Sonar ...

2: Yes the HELIX 2d can display SI/DI from the 999 SI xducer ...

3: Networking is advantageous regardless of which new unit you add ...

Some cost can be saved in choosing the HELIX 2d Sonar unit over the HELIX SI unit ...

Disadvantage (in the HELIX 2d Networking) is the 999 must be powered on in order to use the SI/DI from the 999 xducer ...(where a HELIX SI unit could utilize SI/DI/2d without the 999 being powered on) ...
