Hi Guys,
Relatively new to this forum....so hi all.
I have recently purchased my first Humminbird unit and have already found this forum very useful. Hopefully once I graduate past the 'blindly-pressing-buttons-until-I-break-it' stage, I might even be able to contribute in a useful way.
I have a question regarding my Helix 5 SI GPS unit that someone here may be able to answer....I have searched fairly extensively without luck so far.
Can anyone tell me if the manual waypoint input format can be changed/selected on this unit? And if so...where do I find it in the menus? I have seen that other models have this option, but can find nothing on the Helix. I do understand that they coordinates can be converted before entry, but it would be easier for me (if possible) to enter them as is.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian

Greeting all, I have a similar issue wil my Helix 7, I've tryed every thing I know to load Lat/Long Coordinates into Humminbird PC and nothing I do seems to work. I would like to have fishing locations loaded before I hit Lake Eufaula, AL.
Is there a good tutorial or step by step instructions outthere?
Thanks in advance.

What specific problem are you having in HBPC ...??
1 point to mention is HBPC default latitude is East "E" ... this must be changed to West "W" for North America ...
Also if your latitude starts with 2 digits as xx° ...this must be changed to 3 digits as 0xx° ...

Understand that I have to change HBPC default setting to West and East, but the system will not hold that setting. No matter what I do I have not been able to load any coordinates that were on point. Still trying to work this issue.

After entering your characters into the correct field, you should be able to press Enter or Tab on your keyboard ... or mouse click into a different field ...
Are these 3 actions I mentioned not working correctly ...??

Ok, I can now load Lat/Long into HBPC but still can not get the system to save the setting. I can find the location in GE and save them. After I close HBPC and go back into the system the WP's created are gone. Why can't I save my work in HBPC?

Click Edit at the top left of HBPC and select "Preferences"...
Make sure "Close all files when exiting" is not selected ...

I appreciate the advise, I made sure of the changes you suggested but my program still will not save my coordinates. Maybe I need to reload HBPC?

The gpx data is saved on your PC at MyDocuments/My_HumminbirdPC/GPX_Files ...
After you close HBPC - verify if your gpx data is in the GPX file folder ...
A Waypoint created in HBPC will have the name "PC_today'sdate.gpx" (unless you renamed the waypoint in HBPC before closing the program) ...
