Ok I bought the Auto Chart Pro. Now will come all the "NEWBE QUESTIONS". I have viewed all the tutorial's here on the site plus I bought the three CDS. Is there a certain speed that I need to be at or below for recording? I plan to be out on the water recording this weekend, and building my first map.

It all depends on what level of detail you want ..... If your 2D reads good at higher speed, you can record....but it will be further between pings and not as good of detail.
2.5 to 3.5 has been recommended as a good speed to get the best SI detail and would probably be a good range for the maximum mapping detail.
How'd you like the training DVD's?

That speed sounds very good to me. I found the training link on here to be extremely helpful. The ones I bought I have not looked at all three yet but the one I did was very good. I feel between the two I will be well equipped to start making my own maps. I was hoping to get out Saturday but looks like I will be working so will have to wait till Sunday. If I am recording a narrow river, say less than 20 feet across do I need to ziz zag or can I run down the middle. So many questions sorry. Thanks

You'll get a map with a couple of runs up and down the river. BUT, to get an accurate map it helps to make a grid pattern with at least one way going for close to shore (or shallow) and then out to the deepest water and back again. I set up a grid pattern of way points and then 'goto' with the iPilot link.
