Title: need help mounting 998c si transducer on skeeter sx-190
Post by: grae46 on December 29, 2013, 10:01:15 PM
Hi Everyone,
I recently got the 998c si and am having a little trouble figure out the best spot to mount the transducer.  I have looked at tons of other threads but the back of my boat seems to be a little different from the other.  I have put a ribbon across like I have seen other do and know the highest it can go. I'm just worried where I'm thinking will have the motor in the way when its trimmed down.  If you have any thoughts or suggestions I would be interested in hearing them! If there is another angled picture that could more let me know and I can take more.  Thanks

Here's some more Skeeter installation ideas...(SL 190 transom looks very similar to yours)...

It's very possible you may have to trim the motor up some when scanning....

Thanks.  I saw that other forum and was kinda basing it off that when I was looking at spots for mine.  Do you know off hand if that is normally a good spot with getting a clean read(air bubbles) being close to the motor?

I would suggest temporarily mounting the xducer with high bond double stick tape and try it....

It's unlikely that this spot will work for high speed on plane readings as the xducer will probably be completely out of the water when the boat is on plane...

Your best scanning is going to be at idle speed anyway...
