Title: 998SI won't turn off

I'm having problems with my 998SI 13 months old, good power at terminals (12/12.5) wired to battery.....what it's doing is it wont turn off just goes to the "shutting down" screen and sits there until the screen goes white. I'm pretty sure I joined the Humminbird Select program so I should have another year of warranty left but I had a question about the bootstrap way to get it out of the loop.   Also the way I have to turn the unit off is to unplug it then plug it back in. The unit comes on without me using/pressing the power button so I think if a bad power button or board.    Also anyone else see or heard of this happen?

There have been issues with the power switch. Contact customer support and have them assist in the select program and to get your unit in for a checkup and or repair.

Thanks for the input....i will be contacting them in the morning....I hope everything goes will I know some were having trouble the warranty work and humminbird select program......Thats the first thing I did when I got the unit was sign up for the humminbird select but didnt hummibird go through a update and made everyone rejoin the program?  I they did lost my information.....Thanks again....
