Title: 1197c - I've decided to go back to the 4.700 update and stay there

Here's why:
This is the last update before down-imaging became available.
The down-imaging on the 1197 is just software that has combined the side-imaging.
Down-imaging has never looked clear on my machine.
I don't really use or need down-imaging, and it's just more
software to eat up precious memory.

I think at the time of this update, that Humminbird was trying to tweak or make better what
was already working, and not trying to add a lot of new features.
Also, I think this was the last update that I could actually review a recording
on the machine without the machine moving at a snails pace.

I just want a stable, reliable system with accurate gps and accurate sonar.

I installed this update last night and my system is very quick and responsive,
and the gps and xm weather are working great.

My software updating days on this machine are over.

ITGEEK, I stopped updating a long time ago! HB softwere might need field testing before release? Roddy :-[

I agree +2...

HB should have a select set of field testors who take the time to do a good test and check this stuff out..
If they do it is not us and it aint working..
