Talk about a sick feeling. Was backing my boat into it's storage spot and due to rain it slid into a small pile of gravel I had sitting beside the stall and it scratched the bottom of the transducer. You can feel it with your finger tips but can't catch it with your finger nail. I was wondering if this will effect it next time out or not? And is there any way to polish it out?
Man that hurt. First time out with it, no less.

Probably not. Is it just on the bottom or on the sides of the bottom also. You could probably take some very fine sand paper to it and take out the rough spots.
The 2d will be ine I am sure. If the sides are scratched it could affect the SI since this beam is more sensitive to variations.
Post a closeup picture if you can.

Thanks for the reply. It's just on the bottom and the boat is at the lake and I'm home stewing about it so your reply helps easy the stress. Thanks again. I will post how it works next time out, which will be in a couple of weeks.

I am sure you will be fine. Especially if they are not deep enough for your fingernail to catch.
Don't stress over it! I would be anxious to get back out and catch some fish!

Don, as Robert posted you should be fine. Follow his directrion on the light sanding. Our transducer has smalll scratches and it does not seem to affect the picture. It is almost two years old and well used. Display and recordings are still fine.
