I've got an 898c SI on my tin boat, using the SI transducer for SI only, with a Y cable and a XNT 9 20 T for 2D.
I'm looking at buying a salt/brackish water boat, and just moving the 898 back and forth between it and my tin boat.
I don't think I'd use the SI features on the new boat that much, and don't particularly want to pay $270 for another SI transducer.
So, if I mounted an XNT 9 20 T on the new boat for 2D only, would I also need an AS SIDB Y cable, or could I just plug it in directly to the 898?
Thanks!

You would also need to change the “Transducer Select” (or “Connected Transducer”) menu setting to “Dual Beam” and back to “Hi-Def Sidescan” when you move the unit back and forth. The Dual Beam setting will have your 898c Si unit operating just like a 858c model unit (no Si or Di sonar menus or Views).

If you search online you can find the xhs 9 hdsi 180 t for a much cheaper price. I got one from amazon for 146.00 that included shipping and the mount.
