Title: 899/999/Terrova - Link Confirmation and ?'s
Post by: tr7 on August 10, 2015, 08:34:15 PM
I'm hoping you guys can help me out. Recently I have been doing a lot of reading and printing of documents regarding my electronics. Reason being is that I was struggling on finding out how to update everything to the latest software versions. Well last Friday I successfully updated everything large in part to some great help obtained from a great Humminbird customer service rep.

How this matters? Well, while reading all of this information it led me to printing my product manuals along with anything else I could find that may help me better understand my products. After updating everything I went through the manual page by page and really "learned" my units. However I'm not sure everything is linked after fishing with the newly updated units on Saturday.

I was under the impression that as long as both units were on and showing transducer availability they would be shared. Upon using the units I've noticed that the view rotation, screen settings such as colors, etc are not shared. How do I confirm that these units are shared?

I'm also curious if it is possible to utilize different transducers for different things? I have the 899 transducer on the trolling motor and the 999 transducer on the transom. I'd like to use the sonar from the 899 transducer as well as the GPS on the bow and the 999 ducer for side imaging for both, etc. is this possible?

Any help would be much appreciated

Individual unit settings are specific to that unit only (views, palette choices, screen settings, etc) ...

Ethernet allows sharing of waypoints, accessories and sonar ...

You can choose which accessory and xducer will be used under the Network tab in the Main Menu system ...

You will need to set your choices of accessories and xducer from each head unit's own Networking menu ...

Waypoints physically reside in only the unit each waypoint was created on ... If both units are powered on and "Waypoint Sharing" enabled ... Each unit can "See" each other's waypoints ...
