For any one who is interested iv just herd back from Humminbird customer support and seems Auto chart cannot use data from .csv .txt .shp files  as DR Depth once could.
This is very disappointing as it makes the program very limited compared to what it was in its original form.

You will have to go to a two step process using gpsbabel, for example, to convert the .csv file into a HB .ht file format. The .ht file format can be read by AC for importing that dataset into your map database.

Thanks for the info guys, I use Reef Master and its a magic program, Thing is though  I also have Humminbirds and Ive been driving round   collecting as mush data as possible  and digitizing from paper charts and making my maps and I am very happy with the results.
But as RM uses tracks to create the chart in the HB unit and my maps are large  I thought  I may run out of storage room in the HB unit, So was thinking Auto Chart might be the go, But I was disappointed to see a lot of the import formats had been removed. I will give bigdaddyguns suggestion of gpsbabel a go.

Just out of interest does any one know how much storage space there is for track files in a HB 1198 ?

For non-Onix HB units there is a limit of 50 individual tracks @ 20,000 points per track. If you are creating contour maps by tracks I can see this internal storage limit being a real constraint.

Humminbird PC should allow us to merge HT file into fewer one, instead having 100 of HT files when creating the map. you may only have 2 or 3 with 21k tracks inside of each file
