Chuck when your running passes looking at the area in SI do you tilt your motor up?
No. My motor sits slightly in front of the location of the transducer so tilting it up does not help. It still completely blocks the line of the transducer.
At safe operating angles for cooling for the motor it actually makes things worse. I only tilt it up if I am running shallow areas or areas with heavy stumps to look out for. No advantage now. When the third pontoon is installed the motor will go almost a foot further aft and I will modify the bracket where the transducer is mounted to move it about 4" forward. I am hopeful that then tilting it up should help.
