Title: Transducer Placement on a small pontoon boat
Post by: TerryfromWA on March 29, 2015, 11:33:22 PM
The questions are where and how to mount a side imaging transducer on the boat.  I am considering a Hummingbird 899 CI HD SI or Helix 5 SI unit. .The photo is the best I have of the boat configuration as the boat will not be delivered for a few weeks.  The boat will be used in shallow lakes with most fishing being done in about 12 ft. of water.  The boat will have a long shaft Honda 5 HP on it.  The traditional bracket mount on the end of the pontoon will not work because of the conical ends for mounting a side imaging transducer.  Thanks TerryfromWA

Welcome to the Humminbird Side imaging Forums TerryfromWA.

Looks like you will either have to get a mounting bracket welded onto the back end of one of those pontoons or mount the transducer on a deployable device like a trolling motor, the Da’ Ducer Apparatus or something you come up with.

I bought a ducer mount from podunkideas.com. He has several that I think you might like or can use. Well built product.
