Marking Waypoints
« on: June 05, 2014, 10:57:33 PM »
I may be dumber than rocks, but isn't marking spots as easy as pushing the "Mark" button on your unit? I ask because on a trip I was on last week I tried marking several spots. Typically it would say "waypoint ....successfully saved". However on several occasions on the trip I would push mark and it would say "successfully saved" but not have a waypoint number. When trying to find those marks they were nowhere to be found. I also at one point of the trip tried to mark a string of waypoints through a hump field so I could later run through it with my I pilot to try out the link on following waypoints. As I drove impressed the mark button in several locations. After I got back to the dock I looked for the string I just marked and none of them were there. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If there is no SD Card in the unit, make sure the Screenshot feature is set to off under the Accessories tab in the main menu system...

I'm assuming the Lakemaster doesn't count as the SD card your talking about. If not I know for certain that the screenshot is "on". So if the Lakemaster doesn't count I will turn it off. Thank you!!!

Post back your results...

We have seen this issue before with the Screenshot on but no SD Card in the unit...

rnvinc,

You were 100% correct. Once I turned the screen shot off I was able to mark way points. Is this hor it's supposed to be or something one should expect a fix for in a future update?

I don't think this has ever been determined as an anomoly...

I think this is just the way it is ...

Maybe Greg would have more info of if this has been discussed at HB as something that needs to be addressed...

We, as users, have always been more interested in the hope that HB would add a change that would separate the Mark button from the Screenshot button...

I think HB finally did this with the new ONIX and ION...

This has been reported to the Engineering group and so there should be a software fix for it at some time in the future.
