Title: Onix + 1199
Post by: javac on April 19, 2015, 10:04:03 AM
Hi new on this forum,

My boat is equipted with a 1199 si. I intent to add an Onix si. My questions are:
- Can I both use them with their own transducer without interfering each other?
- If so, what is the best place to install the transducer, see picture.

Welcome to the Humminbird Side imaging Forums javac.

I doubt it javac because both units use the same sonar frequencies.  It is a possibility though and they may not interfere one day but do the next or maybe they only interfere at certain water depths. When this happens try turning on and up the Noise Filter menu in the unit showing the interference.  You can also try manually selecting a different Lower Range as well.  There really is no transducer mounting location that will prevent this due to the spread of the sonar beams.  This is for the 2D 200kHz sonar.  The Si sonar frequencies will interfere with each other if the sides of the transducers are pointed at each other.
