Title: Question on Interlink
Post by: sosusavage on January 11, 2011, 07:45:09 PM
I have a question about buying the interlink. I currently have a 798csi that I picked up on EBAY for cheap :D and a 787 c2i. The problem is my 798csi did not come with the external GPS puck. So my question is if I buy the interlink can both of my units run off my internal GPS off of the 787 without having to buy an external GPS puck. Thanks, Chris

Yes they can Chris but the 787c2i unit would have to be on the whole time.  Also any waypoints that are set in the 798 unit in the Si or 2D sonar will be off since the GPS Receiver (in the 787c2i) and the 798’s transducer are separated by XX feet.  Good news is that you should be able to add a new GR50 GPS Receiver to your 798 at a later date by just plugging it into the Y-cable that came with the 798.
