Title: 798 Installation
Post by: lystonp1 on September 10, 2013, 11:44:28 PM
I recently bought a 2013 Tracker 175 TXW and outfitted it with a Humminbird 798CI HD SI.  I have a few questions about my install and optimizing for best imaging... I have attached a picture of where the transducer is mounted as well as a side image from humviewer. If I am interpreting the image correctly, it looks like I am getting some air bubbles on the right side (probably from the screened intake). It also appears that my transducer may not be angled the correct way because the image does not look very crisp?  Please let me know your thoughts and recommendations on how to optimize my output.  All comments and feedback [attachimg=2]are welcome...I am learning.

Welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums lystonp1.

Could you please post a Screen Snapshot image.  Not all of us use HummViewer so a Screen Snapshot would be more familiar for us.

It does look like you are getting some sort of blockage or reflection to the right of the transducer.  Try making a Screen Snapshot with the SI Range set to 20 feet with the boat drifting.  If it is still there than it may very well be the water inlet screen.  If it is gone than it is probably air bubble flowing off the right side of your boat’s hull when you are moving.
