which of two units with Link?
« on: February 26, 2014, 12:07:26 PM »
I have a 788ci HD on the bow. I have a 999 ci si at the console. They are not connected to each other. Which will give me the best performance when using the I-pilot Link when in follow the conture mode? I  fish flowages where the contour lines change course very abruptly. I am wondering if the internal GPS on either unit based on their location in the boat and their proximity to the trolling motor would make any real difference?

I would think that the 999ci HD Si unit would be better at this because it should be able to better handle the larger LakeMaster cards you may end up using. The i-Pilot Link uses its own GPS Receiver, so the internal GPS Receivers on either unit will not make a difference.

That is excellent. I didnt know the links GPS was the control point. The more I learn the better it gets. Thanks again.
