waypoints
« on: January 05, 2014, 12:10:37 AM »
Why is it when I go out on the lake and mark areas  and later look at the map I see a camera symbol for the waypoint and other  locations marked show a blue dot?  Does it have something to do with how the waypoint was saved?

This was without making any changes to the waypoints as far as symbols, just saved and go.  thx

You have the snapshot feature enabled.  When you hit mark, it is also taking a snapshot.  Try turning snapshot off and see if it still uses the camera as a waypoint marker.

If the SD Card that contains the snapshot is still in the unit...move the 4way cursor over the camera icon on the map to see a thumbnail of the image you captured when you hit "Mark"...

Thx rnvinc.

Was out Sat. And marked a bunch of new waypoints.  At the ramp after loading the boat I was looking at what I had due to a member asking about this.  In one area I had three waypoint.  One showed a camera icon and the rest were blue dots.

Was this due to marking the location in diff. screen views?  Bad weather for next few days over this way but next time out I'm going to do what RG said and see what happens on the icon.

If the snapshot feature was on in all of the captured waypoints...but only some of the waypoints are showing as the camera icon on the chart...it could be waypoint "Decluttering" may be turned on under the "Chart" tab...

Try zooming in on the map towards the waypoints to "spread" the waypoints out and see if the camera icon shows up on the waypoints that you know were taken with the snapshot featured enabled...
